Little White House – Warm Springs

Franklin D. Roosevelt first came to Warm Springs, GA in 1924 hoping to find a cure in the naturally warm waters there for the polio that had struck him. President Roosevelt loved the area so much that he spent most of the time during his presidency there. The natural water gave FDR relief from his illness. The house he built and lived in there is called the “Little White House”.  It is preserved just as it was when he lived there. Adjacent to the house, the FDR museum displays memorabilia collected in honor of this great US President and world statesman. The museum also presents a brief film of historic footage of FDR and his contemporaries during their activities in Warm Springs. Come see why FDR thought this was and is a truly wonderful place to visit.
